Wehrli Committee Appointments Focused on economic Growth Agenda

Naperville, Illinois – State Representative Grant Wehrli (R-Naperville) lands committee assignments
that put economic growth agenda first. Wehrli will have the opportunity to put his small business experience and fiscal accountability background as a former city councilman to work with his new appointments to the Small Business Empowerment & Workforce Development Committee and Appropriations Committee on Higher Education.

“These appointments present a great opportunity to investigate the issues that continue to plague our economic and education funding goals. I am looking forward to hearing ideas from the residents, the private sector as well as the small businesses to develop a plan that can restructure the state’s failing economic agenda and its heinous budget cuts to education. I plan to utilize my small business experience and local government background to champion ideas that will increase economic growth that will provide proper education funding,” said Wehrli.

Wehrli’s experience as a small business owner and former city councilman gives him a wealth of knowledge to start off the 99thlegislative session. Wehrli’s background also earned him appointments to the House Special Committee on Special Needs & Services, Consumer Protection Committee, International Trade & Commerce Committee and the Public Utilities Committee. The emphases of these committees are geared towards budgetary issues and economic growth but also monitoring safeguards for consumers and residents.


“As I am very anxious to get started, I believe I am well equipped to serve the 41st House District and people of Illinois in my newly appointed roles,” said Wehrli. “I’d also like to thank House Leadership for these opportunities and I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to improve the state’s economic outlook.”
