NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The City of Naperville and the Naperville-Lisle Townships Triad is pleased to present the “Healthy, Wealthy & Wise” 2015 conference for area senior citizens on Friday, September 18 from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.
This informative, engaging conference is a free opportunity for independent living seniors to learn more about services available to them from experts in various fields. The morning begins at 8 a.m. with a lively and fun musical journey featuring Mayor Emeritus A. George Pradel and Naperville Senior Task Force co-chair Bev Patterson Frier. Frier and co-chair Karen Courney will provide an overview of community resources available to seniors at 9 a.m. followed by noted author and inspirational speaker Jamie Lee Silver sharing “Lessons for Living Longer, Healthier and Happier Lives” at 11:15 a.m.
“The City and Triad were thrilled with the response to last year’s senior conference, and we believe this year’s event has built upon the success and lessons learned from 2014,” Naperville-Lisle Triad chair Brian Foster said. “We are very pleased that Naperville’s Senior Task Force has formed and can use this venue to share with our seniors the wealth of resources available to enhance their quality of life.”
In addition to the presentations, approximately 30 area organizations representing a variety of community senior services will showcase their products and offerings to attendees in the Lower Level Meeting Rooms of the Municipal Center. Prizes will be raffled at the end of the event and a free boxed lunch will be provided.
“As Naperville’s senior population grows, it is important that we provide seniors with the tools they need to live active, healthy, safe and independent lives,” Crime Prevention Specialist Julie Smith said. “This year’s event has the added benefit of the Senior Task Force’s extensive knowledge base. We look forward to welcoming all who wish to attend and having them leave a little bit healthier and wiser.”
