“These committees play a crucial role weighing in on legislation that will impact our jobs climate, and our state and local budgets. My participation ensures my constituents have a voice in these discussions throughout the process,” Representative Wehrli said.
Representative Wehrli has also garnered a spot for the next two years on the House Higher Education-Appropriations Committee which is tasked with reviewing proposed funding for colleges and universities.
“College students and universities have struggled through great uncertainty during our ongoing budget stalemate. I’m looking forward to working on the long-term funding solutions they need and deserve.” Wehrli added.
In all, Representative Wehrli will serve on the following House committees in the 100th General Assembly which runs through January, 2019:
• Higher Education-Appropriations
• Personnel and Pensions
• Labor and Commerce
• Cities and Villages
• Public Utilities
• Energy
“All of these committee assignments are a great fit. They will give our communities a strong voice on many of the most critical issues we’ll be dealing with in the new 100th General Assembly,” Representative Wehrli concluded.
